Our Reading Leaders play an important role in promoting a love of reading throughout the school. Working alongside our Reading Lead, Mrs Tharme, they help to inspire younger children to enjoy books and celebrate reading as an important part of school life.

Reading Leaders take responsibility for helping to organise and maintain our school library, ensuring that books are tidy, accessible and attractive for all children. They also help to promote reading across the school by sharing book recommendations, celebrating favourite authors and encouraging their peers to develop positive reading habits.

As part of their role, Reading Leaders help care for our Reading Shed, making sure it remains a welcoming and inviting space. They gather children's favourite book choices, help select appealing books and ensure the area is comfortable and enjoyable, with soft cushions, rugs and cosy spaces where children can relax and become engrossed in a good book.

Through this role, children develop valuable leadership skills, including responsibility, organisation, communication and teamwork. By helping to create a positive reading culture, our Reading Leaders play a key role in encouraging a lifelong love of books and reading throughout our school.
