What do these results mean?

Good Level of Development (GLD)
A Good Level of Development shows that children have reached the expected level in the key areas of learning by the end of Reception and are well prepared for Year 1.

Phonics Screening Check
The Year 1 Phonics Screening Check assesses children's ability to use their phonics knowledge to read words. Strong phonics skills are essential for becoming confident and fluent readers.

Year 2 Phonics Re-check
Children who do not meet the expected standard in Year 1 have another opportunity to take the check in Year 2. Our 91% success rate reflects the impact of additional support and targeted teaching.

Supporting Every Child to Succeed

Reading is at the heart of our curriculum. Through our Little Wandle phonics programme, daily reading practice and targeted "Keep Up" support, we work closely with every child to help them become confident, enthusiastic readers and learners.
