🥕👩‍🍳Cooking

Cooking is an important life skill that helps children develop independence, confidence and healthy habits that can last a lifetime. Through cooking, children learn practical skills such as measuring, following instructions, problem-solving and working safely, while also gaining a better understanding of nutrition and where food comes from. Cooking activities support many areas of learning, including mathematics, literacy, communication and personal development.

As part of our curriculum offer, all children have opportunities to take part in cooking activities that are linked to their learning and help them explore a variety of foods and cultures. In addition, some children are provided with extra cooking experiences through targeted interventions and enrichment activities, enabling them to further develop life skills, independence, teamwork and confidence in a supportive environment.
