Admission Number

Yaxley Infant School admits up to 60 children each year into Reception.

Oversubscription Criteria

Where there are more applications than places available, places are allocated by Cambridgeshire County Council according to the published admissions criteria. Priority is given in the following order:

  1. Children with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) naming the school.
  2. Looked After Children and previously Looked After Children.
  3. Children who appear to have been in state care outside England and ceased to be in state care through adoption.
  4. Children living within the catchment area who have a sibling attending the school at the time of admission.
  5. Other children living within the catchment area.
  6. Children living outside the catchment area who have a sibling attending the school.
  7. Children of staff who meet the admissions authority's criteria.
  8. Children living outside the catchment area.

Where applications within a criterion exceed the number of places available, priority will be given to children living closest to the school, measured by a straight-line distance from the home address to the school.
