Friday 27th March

Friday 27th March 2020

We have put together some suggested activities for the children to have a go at each day.

Phonics -
Can you play with your monster for approximately 20 minutes, reading the words and finding the sounds on your adventure?

Reading - please continue with your usual reading for 20 minutes each day. You can access books in-line with the children's phonics level on the website Oxford Owl
or alternatively you can read lovely picture books you may have at home or access online tools such as Cbeebies Storytime App or YouTube which has many read aloud stories.

English Challenge - Today we'd like you to write a `What Am I?' poem about an animal and give it to a family member to read. Can they guess which animal you have chosen? For example, I live in the desert, I have two humps, I am tall, What am I? Yes I am a camel.

Maths Challenge - Today we'd like you to go on a 2D and 3D shape hunt. Can you draw the things you find and label them with their names? For example, a tin is a cylinder, it has two circle faces.

Science Challenge - Today we'd like you to go on a season hunt in your garden and out of your windows. What clues can you see that tell us what season it is now? What is your favourite season?

Please look at the Year 1 Activity Passport for other ideas you can do throughout the day.

Don't forget to get outside for some fresh air (The website 'Outdoor Classroom' has some great ideas if you'd like to take a look.
60 Star jumps in a minute
45 bounce catch in one minute.
Hop from one side of the garden to other using two feet.
Hop 30 times in a row.
Skip 5 times using a skipping rope.
Skip across from one side of the garden to the other.
