Welcome to Year Two

At Yaxley Infant School we have two Year two classes – Orange and Purple Class. We are passionate about making learning fun through our creative curriculum. We follow key themes throughout the year and ensure these also include the children’s interests and ideas to engage the children as much as possible in their learning. We use tapestry to communicate learning at school as well as communicating children’s home challenges for the weekend or longer-term projects supporting our learning at school. We encourage parents and carers to share their child’s learning at home via tapestry. We love to celebrate the children’s work and give the children an opportunity to speak about their learning at home with their class peers.

We endeavour to take our learning outdoors as much as we can by using our school front garden. You will often see Year 2 enjoying this area investigating local wildlife and plants, taking work outside, sitting on the benches with a good book and just making the most of being able to learn outside in the sunshine.
