Good Morning Year 1!
This morning we are looking at tricky words. Remember tricky words are the words we cant use our sounds to help us sound them out. We have to learn these tricky words by sight.

Today we would like you to start by thinking back to when we learnt the 'ur' sound and try and write the three words in the pictures. The have a go at writing today's date in your red home learning book and have a go at drawing the weather symbol for todays weather. I hope its sunny where you are!

Next, have a go at practicing the letter formation of Y and y. How many can you write neatly in the time?

Todays tricky words are- me, be, you. Have a go at reading these tricky words. Can you find them on your tricky word chart from school?

Once you think you know the tricky words, lets try and add the correct one to the sentence. Did you get them right?

To finish todays phonics we would like you to play a game. Using your tricky words chart and some counters have a go at covering up some of the tricky words and take it in turns to say the tricky word underneath. See how many you can remember.
