As part of the children's learning of letters and sounds, the children learn 'tricky words'. These are words that the children cannot sound out, and just need to learn by sight. Please find attached a list of these tricky word, sorted into the phases which they learn them. Although we do not send home spellings at Yaxley Infant School, we'd love the children to be practising reading and writing these in fun, exciting ways. For example, they could write them in chalk outside, or use finger paints to practise letter formation.
